Flagship project
AgroGlobal ICPI
Integrated Cassava Processing Infrastructure. A modular, specification-grade native starch facility in Edo State, Nigeria, designed to be the reference asset for LisBonFARM's agro-industrial portfolio.
Design basis
Engineered for consistency at industrial scale.
Uniform lines simplify procurement, spares and operator training, and allow capacity to be added without redesign. Each line is sized to the feedstock the catchment can reliably deliver.
- Fresh-root input
- 1,200 TPD design capacity, with 12.5–15% engineering margin
- Configuration
- Three uniform 400 TPD lines, commissioned in sequence
- Annual root demand
- ~396,000 tonnes at nameplate, 330 operating days
- Native starch output
- ~90,000 tonnes per year at design basis
- Packaging
- 25 kg, 50 kg and jumbo bags for industrial buyers
- Energy
- Gas-based base load, grid backup, biogas from process effluent
- Water
- Process water treatment and effluent treatment to discharge standard
Phasing
Capacity added in step with proven performance.
Line 1 is commissioned and stabilised first. Lines 2 and 3 follow together once operating milestones are met, completing the 1,200 TPD Phase 1 facility. Phase 2 is planned as adjacent capacity with modified starch.
Phase 1A
Line 1 · +400 TPD
First line commissioned and stabilised
Phase 1B
Lines 2 + 3 · +800 TPD
Added together once Line 1 milestones are met
Phase 2
Expansion · +600 TPD
Planned: modified starch and adjacent capacity
Phase 2 remains subject to engineering, funding, land, market, permitting, governance and execution completion.
Product
Food-grade native starch to a published specification.
Specification-grade output is what separates an industrial supplier from a commodity processor. Every lot is released by the in-house laboratory against the target specification.
| Parameter | Target |
|---|---|
| Whiteness | ≥ 95% |
| Moisture | ≤ 13% |
| Ash | ≤ 0.15% |
| Fibre | ≤ 0.10% |
| Specks | ≤ 2 / cm² |
| Fineness | ≥ 99.8% through 100 mesh |
| pH | 5.5 – 7.0 |
| Odour | Neutral |
Value ladder
One feedstock base. A path to higher-value products.
Stage 1
Native starch
Food-grade native cassava starch. The Phase 1 product and the foundation of the investment case.
Stage 2 · Phase 2
Modified starch
Planned Phase 2 derivative line serving food and industrial applications with higher value per tonne.
Stage 3 · Planned
Sweeteners
Glucose syrup, dextrose and fructose (F55) from starch hydrolysis, on the same feedstock and utility base.
Stage 4 · Planned
Sorbitol
The highest-value polyol in the ladder, produced from glucose for pharmaceutical, oral-care and food markets.
Site and land
A candidate site has been identified in Edo State, within Nigeria’s southern cassava belt. Engagement with the landholding community is under way.
In line with standard project-finance practice, land rights will be documented as a registered long-term lease held by the project company, with Governor’s consent, as a condition to financial close. Land engagement is structured to align with IFC Performance Standards 1 and 5: willing parties, fair compensation and no involuntary displacement.
Feedstock architecture
The supply model is diversified by design, so no single channel determines plant utilisation. Suppliers are tiered by committed monthly volume and scheduled to a 24–48 hour harvest-to-process window.
Target architecture. Supply agreements are being developed ahead of financial close.
